Kenny Allstar

About

The sound

Kenny Allstar is a South London DJ, producer and broadcaster whose work spans grime, UK drill, dancehall and rap. Radio was an early route into music for him, and his teenage involvement in local youth-club sessions eventually led him towards DJing and production. Logan Sama and MistaJam were among the broadcasters who influenced that direction. He created Mad About Bars on Mixtape Madness as a space for emerging artists to record and be heard. The series helped lead to broadcasting work at Reprezent, Radar Radio and BBC Radio 1Xtra. His album Block Diaries, released in October 2018, brought a wide range of London collaborators together, with tracks including Tracksuit Love with Headie One and Solo with M Huncho. He has continued releasing music under his own name, including the 2024 album The Future’s Yesterday, alongside the ongoing recorded catalogue of Mad About Bars sessions.
