About

The sound

Kevin de Vries is a German DJ and producer whose melodic techno connects repeating patterns with detailed melodic writing and forceful club rhythms. He has released through Afterlife since 2018, with Dance With Me and Metro among the recordings that established his sound. His productions also appear on Drumcode, Experts Only and Cocoon, placing his work across several strands of contemporary techno and house. His recorded catalogue includes Saga, Born Like That, Entrance and Crashing Down. The tracks extend the approach heard in his earlier releases: recurring musical motifs build tension while melody gives the arrangements a clear emotional direction. His DJ performances carry that studio language into longer sets, where the relationship between the records and the room shapes their progression. His performance history includes Tomorrowland, Awakenings, Time Warp, Coachella and EDC Las Vegas, alongside club appearances such as Space Miami.
