KILIMANJARO

About

The sound

KILIMANJARO is the electronic music project of Josh Kilimanjaro, a DJ and producer with Zambian roots whose route into music began with drumming at twelve. Playing in bands introduced him to the energy of live performance, while artists such as Bloc Party, The Prodigy, Daft Punk and Black Coffee helped connect that experience with electronic music. His DJ development passed through Glasgow and Edinburgh before taking him to London. In 2021, he launched KILIMANJAROMUSIC at Glasgow’s La Cheetah, creating a platform intended to champion marginalised artists. That interest in community sits alongside an Afrocentric musical approach informed by percussion and his earlier band experience. His recording work includes Moving On, Ghetto with Kojey Radical and Tiggs Da Author, and Stumble with RAHH. Further collaborations include I Don’t Want To Go with Bloody Civilian and The Joy, and Time With You with John Summit.
