About
The sound
Kim April is a DJ and producer whose house selections combine minimal, tech and acid influences. Her early musical experience included playing piano by ear, learning to recreate songs before developing her own sound. Family outings to concerts and festivals helped form that musical background, which later led into DJing and production. Her approach places deep basslines and rhythmic grooves at the centre, with the underground sounds of Amsterdam and London among her influences. Her recordings include The Way You Pull Me In and Italo Delirio with Anova. The You and I EP brings together tracks such as Being Young and Undress My Soul featuring Hæra, while Love Me In The Club pairs her with Maarten Emanuel. Get You with Aki Nair extends a catalogue in which instrumental tracks sit alongside vocal collaborations.
