About
The sound
Kristen Knight is a Miami artist whose work spans DJing, production, singing and songwriting. Her Cuban heritage and beginnings as a dancer and performer in South Florida inform a musical approach that brings Spanish-language vocals into tribal and melodic house. Her recordings include Fiera with Eric V and Leyva, Yemaya with Orishas de las Islas and Roger Sanchez, and Congo Cubano with Eric Blayz. Further collaborations include Drop In Drop Out with S-Man, Nadie with LEYVA and Alone with Underwater. Working as both a vocalist and an electronic producer gives Knight several roles within these collaborations. Her catalogue connects songwriting and sung performance with percussion-led club production, extending the performance background that preceded her DJ work.
