About

The sound

KROL is a DJ and producer whose music moves between house, electro and the influence of funk and rock. Years spent studying drums and music theory shaped his attention to timing, while hardware experimentation gives his productions room for unexpected sounds. His work connects detailed composition with a less predetermined approach to building a track. He co-founded Telluric Village with Aman Umber as a home for the music they make together. Their shared blend of house and R&B differs from KROL’s solo releases, giving the label a distinct purpose. His own catalogue includes ALNOS06 on A.B Records, the Airfunk Special and work associated with Positive Future and Velvet Spirit. In a 2026 interview, KROL described beginning productions with a kick before adding melodic and bass parts, often leaving other drums until later. His DJ practice embraces both vinyl and digital records, with the emotional character of the music taking priority over format.
