About

The sound

Kungs is the French DJ and producer Valentin Brunel. His 2016 reworking of Cookin’ on 3 Burners’ This Girl introduced the project to a broad audience, pairing the original song’s soul influences with house production. His later work continues that connection between songs, melody and club rhythms. During 2020 he developed Club Azur as an online space for music and shared listening. That name also became the title of his 2022 album, whose recordings include Never Going Home, Lipstick and Clap Your Hands. Collaborations on the project include People with The Knocks, Quanto Tempo with Victor Flash and Without You with Good Times Ahead. Out Loud followed in March 2026, bringing another set of collaborations into his catalogue. Light Me Up features PNAU, Nasty pairs him with Channel Tres and Get Away was made with Boys Noize. Alongside Galaxy, these recordings extend a production style that brings funk and house together while leaving room for the voices and musical approaches of his collaborators.
