About
The sound
Kurd Maverick is a DJ and producer whose work connects house music with an earlier interest in bands, synthesizers and techno. Musical activity began in childhood, and experimenting with programmed sounds became part of the route from playing instruments to producing records for clubs. His recorded catalogue includes The Rub, Let’s Work and Strings Of Tortuga, alongside Blue Monday and Hell Yeah. A reworking of Technotronic’s Pump Up The Jam and his collaboration with Eddie Thoneick on Love Sensation are also part of that history. His remixes have addressed material by artists including Tim Deluxe, Sidney Samson and Mariah Carey. His artist archive brings that earlier work together with later collaborations, including Rakkas with Nodus and I Like It Like That with HUGEL.
