About
The sound
Leon Vynehall is an electronic producer and DJ whose work moves between house music, composition and storytelling. Music for the Uninvited drew on the funk, soul and hip-hop he heard growing up. Nothing Is Still took a different form: the album followed his grandparents’ move from London to New York in the 1960s and extended into film and literature. Rare, Forever turned from family history toward a more open approach to composition, bringing ambient music, techno, post-punk and drone into the same record. His DJ-Kicks mix similarly ranged across industrial music, dancehall, soul and club rhythms. His later catalogue includes In Daytona Yellow and tracks such as Scab featuring TYSON, Cruel Love featuring Beau Nox and Mirror’s Edge featuring POiSON ANNA.
