LOVRA

About

The sound

LOVRA is a Berlin-based DJ and producer whose house and tech-house music draws on the club sounds of the 1990s and 2000s. Vocal hooks and rolling basslines connect that musical background with a contemporary approach to producing records for the dance floor. Her work spans DJ performance, production and the development of her own HOUSECAT project. Her catalogue includes Bad Habit with Thomas Newson, Diamonds with Merk & Kremont and Bad Things with Dot N Life. How The Story Goes, Turn It Up and The House of House EP add solo releases to those collaborations. Her recordings have appeared through labels including Toolroom, Repopulate Mars, Solotoko, CR2 and IN / ROTATION. HOUSECAT developed from a Berlin party into a wider platform that includes Housecat Records, providing another outlet for her own music and other house producers. Alongside that label work, her artist archive documents the LOVTape mix series and releases such as Homeless with Tia Scola.
