About

The sound

Low Steppa is a UK house DJ and producer whose recording work includes Heard It All Before, Runnin’ and You’re My Life. His releases connect vocal house with a direct club sensibility, appearing through Armada, Defected and Strictly Rhythm. He also founded Simma Black, developing a label alongside his own production and DJ career. You’re My Life marked his solo debut on Defected in 2019. The following year, Moments brought together original production and remix work: his version of Ultra Flava was made with Johan S, while 3am and A Place In My Heart received separate reinterpretations. Love Jam completed the release, showing another side of his approach to arrangement and house rhythm. His wider work includes the Boiling Point album and event series, as well as a BBC Radio 1 Essential Mix. His own artist archive documents later tracks including The Roller, Holte, Pull Up and Don’t Stop.
