About
The sound
Luke Solomon is a British DJ, producer and label founder whose career grew out of London’s house scene in the 1990s. His Space parties at Bar Rhumba with Kenny Hawkes introduced him to Derrick Carter, with whom he co-founded Classic Music Company. With Justin Harris, he developed Freaks, whose records included “The Creeps.” His solo albums include The Difference Engine and Timelines, while Powerdance’s The Lost Art of Getting Down explored disco and dance production in a collaborative format. In 2022, his collaborations with Honey Dijon extended to Beyoncé’s Renaissance tracks “Cozy” and “Alien Superstar,” as well as Dijon’s Black Girl Magic. Those credits connect the independent house-label world in which he developed with large-scale pop production.
