LUKE UNA

About

The sound

Luke Una is the DJ and producer Luke Cowdrey, whose musical life developed between Sheffield and Manchester. He began DJing in the 1980s and later formed the Unabombers with Justin Crawford. Their Electric Chair parties became part of Manchester’s underground dance culture, followed by recording work as Elektrons and the development of Homoelectric and Homobloc. His Worldwide FM programmes brought that wide-ranging selection approach to radio. É Soul Cultura developed into a series of compilations for Mr Bongo and a label project, drawing together music across generations and styles. His recording work includes Mr Bongo Edits releases, while executive production on Transmission Towers’ Transmission One extends his involvement into artist development.
