About
The sound
Mahony is a Romanian DJ and producer whose house and minimal sound draws on a longstanding interest in hip-hop and underground rap. An early residency at Bucharest’s Kristal Club gave him experience selecting music around visiting international DJs. He later became associated with Romania’s Sunwaves scene while developing a production catalogue of his own. His releases have appeared on Vatos Locos, Tamango Records and Mindshake. In 2022, he launched Take Notes, a label built around club music and the rhythmic approach that runs through his DJ sets.
