About

The sound

Malive is a Brazilian DJ and producer from Rio de Janeiro whose work connects hip-hop production with house and techno. Before becoming a DJ, he played in bands and learned to produce music on a computer. His production work included collaborations within Brazil’s hip-hop scene, with artists such as Djonga, Froid and Xamã. He launched the 2035 Mood label with Speak Up, a house record featuring vocals from JPL. In discussing the release, Malive described a practical approach to production: developing ideas with the equipment available and building a working partnership with Pedro Lemos. DJing followed the growing presence of his own music on dance floors. His electronic catalogue includes releases through Defected and Diynamic. In 2025, he collaborated with Jonas Blue on Edge Of Desire. Later SoundCloud uploads include the radio edits of Over & Over and Boradale, both posted in March 2026.
