About
The sound
map.ache is Jan Barich, a DJ and producer from Leipzig whose music moves between house, deeper club rhythms and ambient listening. His work grew alongside KANN, the label he established with Alex Neuschulz and Dennis Knoof, and a wider connection with Giegling. His albums include Ulfo, released through KANN in 2012, and Vom Ende bis zum Anfang, issued by Giegling in 2018. The Carmella release adds Clouds Over Clowns, Tel Aviv and Carm to a catalogue that spans extended tracks and album-length projects. Barich has also worked behind the scenes as a booker at Leipzig’s Conne Island. That involvement in the city’s music culture developed alongside his own recordings and performances, linking his production work with the spaces and labels around him.
