Mar-T is the artist name of Spanish DJ and producer Martin Vega, born in Barcelona and raised in Sitges. He began DJing in 1995 after discovering electronic music at L’Atlàntida and built a career around house, tech house and techno with an eclectic, groove-led approach. His long association with Amnesia Ibiza began in 1999, making him one of the club’s longest-serving resident artists. The 2011 I Want My MTV parties and Best Resident of the Year DJ Award marked a major step in his profile; he later held a residency at Marco Carola’s Music On and became part of the HYTE program at Amnesia. Mar-T’s production catalogue includes releases on Hot Creations, Cocoon Recordings, Get Physical, This and That, Yoshitoshi, Moon Harbour, 8Bit and Saved Music, as well as music issued by his own WOW! Recordings label. He has collaborated with Luca Donzelli and made remixes for Gorgon City, Mark Knight and Funkagenda, UMEK and other house and techno artists. His sets are known for crossing styles rather than staying in a single lane, balancing muscular low-end rhythm with playful vocal and melodic details. From Ibiza and Barcelona to clubs across Europe and beyond, Mar-T brings the instincts of a resident selector to each room while continuing to develop his label and studio work.
