About
The sound
Mark Knight is a British DJ, producer and remixer who founded Toolroom in 2003. The label grew alongside his own recordings and DJ work, later developing radio programming and the Toolroom Academy. Collaboration has been a continuing part of his catalogue. His work includes Downpipe with D. Ramirez, Brutal with Nitro Deluxe, Music Began to Play with Armand Van Helden and Lady (Hear Me Tonight) with James Hurr. He has also remixed Basement Jaxx’s Never Say Never. His album A Year in the Life sits alongside the mixes and selections shared through Toolroom Radio. Toolroom Live 01, mixed with Weiss and Adrian Hour, connects that curatorial work with the label’s wider catalogue.
