About
The sound
MARRØN is an Amsterdam DJ and co-founder and resident of Eerste Communie. His techno draws on an Afro Deep foundation, with fast percussion, hypnotic repetition and close attention to groove.
His artist name references the Maroon communities of Suriname. That declared point of inspiration sits alongside the rhythmic focus of his music, while Eerste Communie provides a shared platform for his work as a selector and organiser.
His recorded sets include HATE Podcast 344, Bassiani Podcast 212, Reclaim Your City 624 and a Stone Techno Festival 2025 performance for ARTE Concert. He has also curated a various-artists release for Float Records, catalogued as FLOAT066. These recordings and selections provide distinct examples of his approach beyond the club, connecting extended DJ sets with compilation curation.
