Massuma

About

The sound

Massuma is a London-based DJ and producer working between Afro house and melodic electronic music. He began making grime beats at twelve with a second-hand keyboard, moved into hip-hop DJing in his late teens and later turned towards house production. Music shared among friends, including Angolan sounds, Latin music and UK grime, helped shape that transition. His productions developed from an earlier gritty approach into more layered, melodic arrangements while retaining the rhythmic energy of grime and hip-hop. Contesto, recorded with DOSAMIS, was released through VOD in July 2025. Alongside his releases, his DJ work includes an opening set for Rampa in Lagos, which he has described as a formative performance.
