Mathame

About

The sound

Mathame is the Italian electronic-music project formed by brothers Matteo and Amedeo Giovanelli. It developed near Sicily’s Mount Etna, drawing together Matteo’s background in film and hip-hop DJing with Amedeo’s violin studies and electronic production. Their melodic techno uses cinematic atmospheres and synthesizer melodies, with Nothing Around Us and Skywalking released through Afterlife. Never Give Up and Believe with CamelPhat add further chapters to their recording history, alongside the album MEMO. Remix credits include work for RÜFÜS DU SOL, MEDUZA, Monolink and Moby. Beyond recorded music, their NEO and NEOLOGY presentations combine electronic performance with audiovisual work, extending the project’s interest in sound and imagery.
