About

The sound

Max Dean is a London DJ, producer and founder of neXup recz. His musical background began with drums and guitar before he started producing in FL Studio, moving through dubstep and EDM towards house. He launched the label arm of neXup in 2023, combining his own records with a platform for emerging producers. His club productions include KILLERZ on Box Red, a track shaped around an old-school hip-hop sample, and the Fascinator EP. Feel Much Better brought him together with Nafe Smallz and Timbaland, while Can’t Decide joined Max Dean, Luke Dean and Locky. Other work includes The Finest EP with Luke Dean and his reworking of Azari & III’s Reckless. This catalogue connects house production, featured vocal collaborations and reinterpretations of existing records. Alongside the studio work, his DJ practice includes a Mixmag Lab London session and performances at The Warehouse Project.
