Meera

About

The sound

Meera is a Norwegian DJ and producer from Stavanger. She began making music at ten and DJing at fourteen, developing the two practices alongside one another. Early interests in rock and emo broadened into electronic music through Daft Punk, French house, garage and drum and bass. Music for Humans was released through VOD, followed by Telefon and Clean the Turbines. Her productions pair house rhythms with melodic passages and draw on a wide range of listening beyond club music. She has cited Keinemusik and Pablo Fierro as influences on her exploration of African and Latin music, including older rock and disco recordings. That range of references informs an approach to DJing in which her own productions play a substantial role.
