About

The sound

Mikee is an Athens DJ whose career is closely connected with the city’s techno club culture. Record collecting came before professional performance: while studying in the United States, he began playing at a club in Pennsylvania and developed his mixing through extended practice with turntables and vinyl.

Back in Athens, a cassette demo led to his first local job at Graffiti, followed by a residency at Factory. In a 2026 LiFO interview, he recalled the time spent exploring record shops and music magazines in search of less commercial sounds. Those experiences shaped a long relationship with techno as a means of musical expression. His account of the scene places equal emphasis on the music and on the people who gathered around it, connecting the work of a DJ with the broader history of Athens nightlife.
