MRAK is the solo electronic project of Carmine Conte, the Italian artist known as one half of Tale Of Us with Matteo Milleri and as a co-founder of Afterlife. Conte’s work under the MRAK name turns toward a more personal and introspective form of electronic music, bringing melodic techno, ambient texture and cinematic scale into a single, immersive language. Hypnotic rhythms and carefully shaped dynamics sit beside emotional melodies, giving each piece the feeling of a journey rather than a fixed loop. MRAK introduced this direction with the three-track One EP on Afterlife in 2021, then expanded it through releases such as Manifesto, The Pledge, The Turn and Smoke. The Smoke EP pairs “Smoke” with “Nobody,” featuring Asal, and “All Of The Lights,” featuring braev, showing Conte’s interest in vocal collaboration and spacious electronic arrangement. His music balances club propulsion with reflective listening, using depth, tension and gradual movement to create a world that feels both physical and cinematic. As MRAK, Conte keeps the emotional intensity associated with Afterlife while developing a distinct solo voice built on atmosphere, storytelling and forward motion. The result is melodic, nocturnal and expansive, with enough rhythmic force for a dancefloor and enough detail to reward close listening.
