About
The sound
Nick Curly is a house DJ and producer from Mannheim whose musical development began with keyboard playing at nine. His studio work became associated with a deep, loop-based strain of tech house, placing groove and repeated rhythmic details at the centre. DJing and production have developed alongside his involvement in independent record labels. He established Cécille with Marc Scholl and 8Bit with Gorge, creating outlets for his own music and other producers. Between the Lines and his 2014 contribution to Defected’s In The House series brought his work into album and mix formats. The Trust project added another platform for presenting house music. You followed on Defected in May 2024. His wider catalogue includes We Luv, Stay High and A Little Conversation, alongside the Joystick EP featuring Joëlla Jackson and Seen It Coming with Rony Seikaly.
