About
The sound
Nicolas Lutz is a DJ from Montevideo, Uruguay, known for digging deeply into records and moving between genres rather than following a single style. His selections range across techno, electro, house and breakbeat, with ambient, IDM and new-wave records also part of his musical vocabulary. His approach depends on detailed knowledge of individual records and careful use of equalisation, finding connections between tracks with different rhythms and textures. That attention to selection gives his sets their shape as much as the genres themselves. Lutz founded My Own Jupiter in 2014. The label added a release platform to the interests developed through his record collecting and DJ work.
