About

The sound

Oscar G is the Miami DJ and producer Oscar Gaetan, whose partnership with Ralph Falcon runs through several chapters of house music. Starting with school dances at the age of twelve, he developed his DJing within Miami’s hip-hop and club culture before moving into production. Working with Falcon under names including Murk, Liberty City and Funky Green Dogs, he helped build a catalogue that includes Some Lovin’, If You Really Love Someone and Reach for Me. Fired Up brought Funky Green Dogs to a wider audience in 1996, followed by the albums Star in 1999 and Super California in 2001. Alongside those collaborative records, Oscar G built a separate identity behind the decks: he began a Saturday residency at Space Miami in March 2000, and the mix album Live @ Space followed in 2003. His solo album Innov8 arrived on Nervous Records in 2008. Remix work for Madonna, Cher and Donna Summer adds another strand to a career spanning club programming, original production and vocal-led house.
