Patrick Mason is a DJ and performer whose development is closely tied to Berlin’s dancefloors. House and disco initially drew him to Panorama Bar, before the percussion and energy of DJs such as Ben Sims opened a path into techno. He began mixing at friends’ parties and played long Monday-night sets at Roses Bar in Kreuzberg while studying fashion. That background in fashion and performance also informed SRVD, his earlier project with Matt Edwards, known as Radio Slave. Mason was its singer and frontman, occasionally joining Edwards on the decks. During the pandemic he began livestreaming his own DJ sets, and an appearance on HÖR Berlin helped introduce his work to a wider audience. His solo sets combine techno and house with visible movement and an improvisational approach to selection. In 2025 he described Masonics as a developing creative home for music, dance, film and visual art. That ambition connects his experience of the dancefloor with his interest in performance, while keeping track selection at the centre of the show.
