About

The sound

Patrick Nazemi is a DJ whose sets move between hip-hop, indie, dance music and other club styles. Born in Los Angeles and raised in the UK, he played in a punk band before working at events and becoming interested in DJing. After learning the basics from a promoter, he bought his own equipment and developed his technique, with an early support set for Zane Lowe marking an important step. His career has moved between different kinds of audience and performance. He supported Mumford & Sons on their UK tour in December 2015 and played for the touring indie night Propaganda and Ramshackle. His own Brooklyn Zoo project focused on hip-hop, while his work also extended to presenting and interviewing artists. A guest appearance with Sam Supplier on Rinse FM in May 2016 added radio to that experience. Onstage, Nazemi combines selection and mixing with microphone work, drawing on a broad musical background to connect the different styles in a set.
