Paul van Dyk is a DJ and producer whose career developed in Berlin’s early electronic music scene. He began playing clubs in the early 1990s and released 45 RPM in 1994, followed by Seven Ways. For an Angel became one of the records most closely associated with his melodic, club-focused production, alongside remix work that included Humate’s Love Stimulation. Out There & Back arrived in 2000, and The Politics of Dancing followed in 2001, extending his DJ work into a mix compilation. His 2003 album Reflections includes Nothing but You, featuring Hemstock & Jennings. The later album In Between, released in 2007, brought collaborations with vocalists including David Byrne and Jessica Sutta into his music. His work has also reached games and film, including music connected with Mirror’s Edge and a remix of the theme from The Dark Knight. VONYC Sessions provides a further outlet for his DJ selections, connecting a long recording career with radio and mixes.
