About
The sound
Peace Control is the American electronic duo of Nick Tew and Ryne Cunningham. Their house productions put melody and vocals at the centre of the arrangement, bringing together two different routes into dance music. Tew began exploring production after seeing Skrillex and Porter Robinson in 2015, later studying music business and piano; Cunningham's listening developed through Denver's house scene and time in Europe. Their remix of Fireboy DML's “Peru” helped bring the project to a wider audience. The catalogue also includes “Smoke,” “Be The One” and “U Ain't Lyin'.” On “Move With Somebody,” they worked with Blackchild and vocalist Mougleta, extending an approach built around collaboration and finding the right vocal for a track. Their releases have connected them with labels including Higher Ground, Deep Root Tribe and Abracadabra.
