About
The sound
Philip Paul is a DJ, producer and sound designer who founded Pulse Tribe Kollektiv in Athens. His own profile describes a musical direction rooted in hypnotic techno, Detroit influences and ambient music, alongside a connection between Greece and France. Pulse Tribe combines underground DJ selections with visual art and other creative work, providing a collective setting for his practice. His recorded sets include a vinyl selection from Zona Mutante 002 at IT Athens and One Take for Fade Radio. CannibalRadio recordings document both a solo Guestzone appearance and a Pulse Tribe broadcast with Freeflow and Leftyt. Beyond the mixes, his own SoundCloud releases include *A TITLE REQUIRED… 001 and a reworking of Depeche Mode’s Heaven titled synthnostalgia, tagged with synthwave, post-punk and new wave. These recordings show different strands of his music beyond the collective’s party lineups.
