About

The sound

Purple Disco Machine is the recording project of Dresden producer Tino Piontek. His musical background combines Italo disco, French house and funk, influences that became the foundation of his nu-disco sound. The name itself nods to Prince and Miami Sound Machine, while years of long DJ sets gave him room to explore how those sounds work together on a dance floor. His 2017 debut album “Soulmatic” includes “Body Funk” and “Devil in Me,” the latter featuring Joe Killington. The follow-up “Exotica” brought further vocal collaborations, including “Hypnotized” with Sophie and the Giants, “Fireworks” with Moss Kena and “Dopamine” with Eyelar. “Paradise” followed in 2024, continuing a catalogue built around disco rhythms, melodic hooks and guest voices.
