About

The sound

Reeshy is a UK DJ and producer whose selections move between house, garage, disco and soul. Originally from Middlesbrough, she developed her career in Leeds, combining energetic club records with a broader interest in different musical styles. Her record collection and approach to mixing give those influences room to meet within a set. She taught herself to DJ through practice and instructional videos by Ellaskins, before playing early sets at Café Orange at Distrikt. Andrew Weatherall, Frankie Knuckles, Binh, Francesco Del Garda and Jane Fitz have been among her DJ influences. Her KMAH radio selections also explored 1990s R&B, hip-hop and Northern Soul. Production followed her DJ work. A collaboration with Bobby O’Donnell led to a four-track debut on Burnski’s PILOT label, drawing on their interest in breaks and classic house. Piano playing and singing provided another musical foundation, while recorded mixes for platforms such as Arcadia Sounds brought her selections to listeners beyond the club.
