About

The sound

Seth Troxler is an American DJ and producer whose musical roots lie in the Detroit area. Born in Kalamazoo and raised outside Detroit, he worked at the Melodies & Memories record shop as a teenager before moving to Berlin in the mid-2000s. House and techno form part of a wider musical approach that also runs through his label work and collaborations. His catalogue includes remixes for The Streets, Hercules & Love Affair and Carl Craig, while Tuskegee and Slacker 85 provide outlets for his work as a label founder. With Phil Moffa, he forms Lost Souls of Saturn, a project that connects electronic music with visual art and immersive presentation. Its work includes the Transmission installation and the 2024 album Reality, accompanied by an augmented-reality comic. Away from records and DJ sets, Troxler co-hosts Flirting with Friendship with Bill Patrick. The podcast adds a conversational format to a career spanning music production, curation and collaborative art.
