About
The sound
Somewhen is a Berlin techno producer and DJ whose early studio work came through rap and R&B. Making beats for other musicians led him towards sound-engineering training, before techno and industrial sounds became a larger part of his records and DJ sets. His releases include work for his own SANA label and Marcel Fengler’s IMF. The Null EP appeared on Unterton in November 2016, bringing together Inward, Grit, Null Drift and Diskret, with distorted textures and connections to EBM. AFL followed on Ostgut Ton, combining heavily treated drums, basslines and vocals across tracks including Ryte, Undress and Kilo.
