About
The sound
Spiller is the Italian DJ and producer Cristiano Spiller, whose recordings connect house music with disco sampling. His best-known track, Groovejet, began as an instrumental built in 1999 around material from Carol Williams’ Love Is You. Boris Dlugosch played the early demo in Miami, and the track was subsequently released through Positiva. The vocal version brought in Sophie Ellis-Bextor, with songwriter Rob Davis contributing to the melody that became Groovejet (If This Ain’t Love). Beyond that record, Spiller’s catalogue includes remixes for Savoir Adore, while his SPIXMIX series documents another side of his work as a selector.
