The Lady Machine

About

The sound

The Lady Machine is a Brazilian techno DJ and producer based in Berlin. Vinyl selection and closely controlled mixing are central to her practice, alongside studio recordings and label work. She is a resident of Pornceptual and co-founded Unterwegs with Decka.

Her catalogue includes Unterwegs II in 2019 and Magnify in 2021. The latter contains Magnify, Concentrate, Amplify and Collide. Other recordings include Resilience, Swelter and Concorde, while her remix work includes Burning Chrome. Releases have appeared through labels including KEY Vinyl, Mote Evolver and Token.

Recorded performances provide another view of the work: Bassiani Podcast 266, a SECTION. set, a Loone recording for Laster’s showcase and an Awakenings Festival set all document her DJ selections. Her archive also includes a back-to-back performance with Red Rooms at Fusion Festival.

Practical experience forms part of her teaching and interview work. A vinyl DJ masterclass and conversations about the records in her bag sit alongside the production catalogue, linking the choices behind a mix with the skills used to bring it together.
