About
The sound
The Magician is the solo project of Belgian DJ and producer Stephen Fasano, a founding member of Aeroplane who began working under this name in 2010. His remix of Lykke Li’s ‘I Follow Rivers’ introduced his melodic approach to a broad audience, followed by a remix of Clean Bandit’s ‘Rather Be’ and ‘Sunlight’, his collaboration with Years & Years. Fasano founded Potion Records in 2014 and developed Magic Tapes as a continuing mix series built around house and disco. His debut studio album, Voyage, moves beyond club tracks into music shaped for listening while travelling. The record includes ‘Knights of Heaven’, ‘Melodic Avenue’ with Nampa and ‘Never Alone’ with Alioth; his wider catalogue also includes ‘Big Fun’ with Inner City.
