THEMBA

About

The sound

THEMBA is a South African DJ and producer whose music brings African rhythms and vocal collaborations into house production. Elements of Africa, released by Armada Music in September 2025, develops that approach across nine tracks. The album includes Akasha with Double Touch, Spine with &lez, Diadora with Citizen Deep and Jessica LM, and Alegria with DJ Kent. Other collaborators include Niraj Naik, Nicolle Rochelle, Khenya, Abel, IDQ, Benchek and Bukeka. His wider catalogue includes The Rhythm and Disappear, alongside remixes of World Hold On, Blessings and Cure My Desire. The Heritage Project provides another strand of his work with African songs. Recorded DJ selections include the Modern Africa mix for 1001Tracklists, offering a longer listening format alongside the individual productions. These recordings connect his studio collaborations with the selection and pacing of his DJ practice.
