About

The sound

Todd Terje is the recording name of Norwegian DJ and producer Terje Olsen, from Mjøndalen. After moving into Oslo’s music scene, he worked alongside Prins Thomas and Lindstrøm, developing an approach that joins disco rhythms, synthesizers and a playful sense of melody. His releases include ‘Eurodans’, the Ragysh EP and It’s the Arps, which contains ‘Inspector Norse’. These records led into his 2014 debut album It’s Album Time, extending his dancefloor productions into a longer listening format shaped by his background at the piano. On It’s Album Time, “Inspector Norse” and “Strandbar” sit alongside “Leisure Suit Preben” and “Johnny and Mary” featuring Bryan Ferry, moving from club disco toward instrumentals and synth-pop. Later releases include The Big Cover-Up in 2016 and “Maskindans” with Det Gylne Triangel in 2017. His remix catalogue includes versions of “Jungelknugen” by Four Tet and Prins Thomas.
