About
The sound
Tomas Station grew up between Bogotá and Chicago, learning piano and drums and playing in punk and jazz bands before developing his work as a DJ and producer. Chicago’s record culture, including Gramaphone Records, helped shape his approach to selection and the connections between different kinds of dance music. He co-founded Downpitch with Dorado and Bruno Anthony and later became a record buyer at Halcyon in New York. His recording history includes work with Dailysession, Descendants of the Deep, Moody and Future Funktion, while Jigit, co-founded with O.BEE and Asli Tunaman, brings another collective dimension to his music.
