About
The sound
WEISS is a UK house DJ and producer whose sound draws on jackin’ house and the Chicago records of the 1990s. His early listening ranged from rock and disco to Motown, and an apprenticeship with engineer James Day helped him turn those influences into his own productions. The 2013 single My Sister was an early statement of his approach to house music. He followed it with You’re Sunshine in 2016 and Feel My Needs in 2018, building a catalogue around bass, rhythm and vocal hooks. Alongside his own releases, WEISS has remixed artists including Kylie Minogue, Robyn, Calvin Harris and Claptone. Those records connect his work as a producer with the classic house traditions that inform his DJ sets.
